And The Winner Is…..

Gianfranco Zola finally got his man and signed Alessandro Diamanti from Livorno for an estimated £6m. Alessandro helped Livorno win promotion from Serie A with a tally of 18 goals in 37 games for the Italian club last season, with 6 goals in the final 10 matches. Hopefully Alessandro will quickly strike up a meaningful understanding with Carlton Cole, but his first game will not be against Blackburn this Saturday due to the delay in getting FA clearance.
