Captain Lucas Neill is set to return to action
Well here we go again! Another weekend chock full of excitement and anticipation for West Ham as they get a chance to redeem themsleves after last week’s disappointment. As usual there is some good news and bad news; team captain Lucas Neill is set to return to action, but new West Ham player Scott Parker will have to wait another week to make his debut. Also out of the line-up for this weekend is Freddie Ljunberg who apparently hurt his ankle this week in training, but then again West Ham’s most recent signing Kieron Dyer is most likely to take his place on the right flank.
So what can I tell you about Birmingham City? Well, they have scored four goals in their first two games but picked up just one point from Wednesday’s 2-2 tie to Sunderland. They lost their opening match 3-2 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Here are the last three results with Birmingham City:
Feb. 12th 2006 West Ham United 3, Birmingham City 0
Dec. 15th 2005 Birmingham City 1, West Ham United 2
May 11th 2003 Birmingham City 2. West Ham United 2
Needless to say West Ham would love to get the 3 points from this match, but to be honest I’d be content with a draw and 1 point. GO HAMMERS!!!
