Sunderland v. West Ham Preview

By: Martin | October 30th, 2009

afc_sunderlandIf the season was all about the last 45 minutes then I would be super confident going into the match with Sunderland on Saturday, but the Hammers defense has been more spotty than a teenager’s face.

If Alessandro Diamanti and Carlton Cole can continue their goal scoring partnership then perhaps three points might be the right reward for making the long trip up North. However with Scott Parker out again to suspension, the team will have to change again and this constant rearrangement may be the issue that is producing negative results.

Good news for the Hammers is that Sunderland’s goalscorer Darren Bent is 50-50 due to a knee injury and along with Sunderland’s loss at Birmingham last week, a result may be on the cards. Sunderland may also have to field a side without ex-Hammer George McCartney, Bardsley, Cattermole and Campbell. It will be interesting to see if Steve Bruce player ex-Hammer, Anton Ferdinand, who spent most of his adult life in Claret and Blue.
