West Ham 1-3 Wolves

Sadness is the emotion that Hammers fans will have after the Tuesday’s display against Wolves. Most, if not all, Hammers fans expected an emphatic win against fellow stragglers Wolves. However it was not to be and again we had to endure ninety minutes of anguish.
The first half seemed very nervous for both teams, with Julien Faubert and Scott Parker getting shots on goal. But maybe it was nerves that got the better of James Tomkins as a back pass to Rob Green got away from him and Kevin Doyle snuck in to put Wolves ahead. It could have easily been two as Radoslav Kovac hacked down David Jones, but the referee didn’t give the penalty.
The Hammers came close to an equalizer that would have totally changed the face of the game a minute before half-time. Scott Parker showed that he is a candidate for England as he took the ball from forty yards to fire off a shot that hit the post and then gave Parker another chance only to be stopped by the Wolves goalie.
At the start of the second half, under performers, Kovac and Tompkins, were replaced with Junior Stanislas and Jonathan Spector. However the changes didn’t help. First off in the 57th minute Ronald Zubar fired past Rob Green and then on the hour Matthew Jarvis’s shot from the edge of the area made it three-nil.
The last thirty minutes became increasingly painful as the Hammers ran out of ideas and luck. Only a stoppage time goal from Guillermo Franco made the day even slightly more bearable.
