West Ham Defender’s Injuries Listed As Serious
By: Martin | August 22nd, 2009
Unbelievable events in the village of Kempston, near Bedford, in the early hours of Saturday morning, when the West Ham defender Calum Davenport and his mother were stabbed at their home. The twenty-six year old had surgery today for the stabbing injuries to his legs. Doctors at the Bedford Hospital say that Calum and his mother are both listed as in a serious condition.
Bedford police reported that a twenty-five year old man had been arrested in Derby on suspicion of attempted murder, while a nineteen year old was arrested earlier on Saturday.
I am sure that everyone wishes Calum and his mother a full and speedy recovery.
Update (Aug 24) – The 25 year old man, allegedly Calum’s sisters boyfriend, was remanded in custody charged with grievous bodily harm with intent. Calum remains at Bedford South Wing hospital recovering from surgery.
