West Ham V. Arsenal Preview
By: Martin | October 23rd, 2009
Zola has probably the best selection of players to choose from for the game with Arsenal on Sunday. Even the perpetually injured Kieron Dyer trained with the team. Danny Gabbidon is getting back to fitness and Scott Parker is available after his suspension. Apparently Calum Davenport is back at the Chadwell Heath training ground after the nasty attack back in August. New boy Guille Franco will be looking for a start to prove himself, whilst the youngsters like Frank Nouble and Junior Stanislas will be trying to establish themselves in the first team.
The match with Arsenal is certainly not a foregone conclusion. Many journalists have written the Hammers off against the Gunners, but it’s never that easy for the Gunners to come to Upton Park. We all recall the 1980 Cup Final and time after time the Gunners have failed to pick the Hammers off. No doubt Arsene Wenger wants three points to mount a serious challenge to Chelsea and Manchester United this year, but those points are not in the bag yet. He has players that are doubtful with injuries like Bendtner, Rosicky and Nasri, as well as long-term injured like Walcott, Denilson and Djourou.
