Pick A Striker. Any Striker.

Is there a striker in Europe who has not had their name linked with a move to the Hammers? Let’s take a roll call; first it was Zola’s playing buddy currently at Barcelona, Eidur Gudjohnsen, then the Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli, as well as the cat and mouse game for Bordeaux’s Marouane Chamakh, and the on and off saga with Bayern Munich’s Luca Toni. This week we have two new candidates for the Hammers; Roma striker Julio Baptista and Livorno’s Alessandro Diamanti. I wonder how much of this chatter is concocted by the player’s agents to force their present clubs into extended contracts or whether Gianfranco Zola really is considering any of these strikers to become the new hitman for the Hammers.
